Our commitment
We aim to make Global Animal Guide usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or reduced-motion preferences. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA where practical for a content-heavy static site.
Measures we take
- Skip link to main content on every page
- Semantic headings and landmarks
- Visible focus styles
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion - Alt text on content images where provided
- Readable typeface (Atkinson Hyperlegible Next)
Known limitations
- Some older auto-generated pages may have thinner alt text
- Complex comparison tables may be harder on small screens
- Credit captions on older pages may still point to the credits hub until the Commons manifest covers every file
