What is a biome or habitat hub?

Each hub explains one major habitat type — ocean, rainforest, savanna, desert, and more — then lists Global Animal Guide species whose habitat facts match that biome. Pages are answer-first for search and AI overviews.

How are animals assigned to a habitat?

Assignment comes from the Habitat fact on each species profile (for example “Savanna, grassland”). Keyword matching maps those facts to biome hubs. One animal can appear in several hubs when it uses multiple habitats.

Is this the same as browsing by region?

No. Regions group species by continent or country range. Habitat hubs group by ecological setting — so a savanna animal in Africa and a grassland specialist elsewhere can share ecological context even if ranges differ.
