Drinking much more than usual (polydipsia) often links to diabetes, kidney disease, Cushing's, or pyometra in unspayed females. Blood and urine tests usually find the cause.
How much is too much?
More than 100 ml per kg body weight daily is suspicious — track intake for your vet.

Diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, hyperadrenocorticism, and uterine infection.
